    polyethylene – plastic – that’s Tyvec. Made from petrochemicals or ethenol. Not exactly, the best way to lower carbon footprint and grow plants for eating or

    Thanks for your concern Ned. My research showed that Tyvec is a #2 plastic, which is supposed to be safe. The US Postal Zevice received Cradle to Cradle certification for its Tyvec postal envelopes. Here’s a story about Tyvec on Treehugger:

    Not concerned about that kind of safety – it has to be made from oil or ethanol – and that production is not helping us at all. Just sort of ironic – growing plants in newly made plastics.
