Get Your Garden in the Mood

June 19, 2010 by

What mood is you garden in? Consider adding some subtle lighting to your outdoor space. Although they vary in design, quality, and price, there are a number of garden containers on the market that do double duty–functioning as plant pots during the day, moonlighting as glowing fixtures at night. The Italian company, Plastecnic, designs, manufactures, and sells nothing but pots–some illuminated, some not, all quite stunning.

These solar pots by GardenGlo (regularly $230, now available for $123.20) do triple duty–they are containers, lights, and at the same time eco-friendly:

Currently a design in progress, Plastecnic’s “Fit Pot” is a planter with reverseable top and bottom that can be turned upside down to acommodate either a large or small plant, and one fits inside the other:

The Dutch company, Bloom, offers some similar lighted pots: http://www.bloompot.com.au
I have contacted the Plastecnic to find out where to purchase the products in Europe and in the US and Canada. I will post this information when I receive it.
GardenGlo seems to sell only in North America.
