Urban Mobile Café Suspended From Trees
February 2, 2013 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
Mobile food purveyors are becoming more common in urban settings, from trending food trucks to food and beverage bikes. Blending the moveable feast concept with nature, Stockholm creative consultancy, Byggstudio, will host a touring mobile café where guests will sip and snack while suspended from trees.
The Tree Café will be in full swing under Stockholm treetops February 4-10 as part of the Stockholm Guerilla Design and Art Week, an alternative satellite event running concurrently with Stockholm Design Week.
To reach their spots under various species of trees, guests will climb ladders made from a variety of woods like fir, oak, beech, and lark.
The swinging event will include a tree-inspired menu of fir tea with maple syrup, bread with chestnut cream, and tree stem cookies.
Byggstudio’s inaugural mobile café event was held in May 2012 in a chestnut tree at Djurgården.
