Underground Garden Garage Saves Space

July 12, 2010 by

Some people have bigger problems to tackle than how to store their Porches. But if your garden happens to have enough room above and below ground for off-street parking, this is a pretty cool space-saving solution.

The Cardok is an electro-hydraulic elevator system that stores your car eight feet underground camouflaged by your garden above.

The Porsche Garden was part of the Royal Horticultural Society Show at Hampton Court back in July of 2008, part of Flemond Warland’s award-winning garden design installation.

I think you’d have to coordinate with the driver so you aren’t suddenly and unexpectedly raised up in the air.

I love the idea in a warmer climate, but would this work in a New England winter? Snow & ice could present a major problem!
