Toying With Urban Gardening?

April 2, 2010 by

Plantoy’s designer, Elodie Delassus, says she was inspired to create the product because most urban people dream about a natural space at home, but that requires the time, knowledge, and attention that many don’t have.

Plantoy is a set of 3 sensors that are inserted into the soil to detect the plant’s basic needs for light, water, and temperature. Consider them a set of extra eyes that alert you (though I’m not quite sure how) when it’s time to give your plants some tender love and care. Could be a great gift for brown thumb gardeners.
