Hanging Out in Your Kitchen Potager

February 15, 2010 by

With Cocoon, Swedish designer Mans Salomonsen combines decoration, storage and gardening in a kitchen window sky planter. You can grow spices and store fruits in the organic shape and while cultivating both life and color into your environment. Made of clay, Cocoon absorbs water which makes it ideal for planting your favorite herbs or small veggies and after harvest just store them in the shelf below.

Ahh, the Scandinavians…they always have great designs. It certainly beats those old school wire mesh baskets that hang in 3s. Now to find one in a local store in my area.

I wouldn”t block the window sunlight or view, but this is VERY practical for putting on the counter. Round off the tops and market both solutions.

I believe it’s just a concept for the moment. If and when it goes into production, I will post it.
