Thank you for sharing about other sources where people can find a way to assist. We are all feeling so helpless as happens in the aftermath of such acts of senseless violence. It’s horrific when it happens to anyone, but particularly difficult to process when such young innocent lives are taken. Everyone is effected by this event in some way–the world mourns with the families and it will take time to heal. I don’t know if we can ever prevent such acts of horror, but I do know it’s high time we try a lot harder.

I spent last night with my kids; my youngest made 20 luminaries with paper bags and votives, which we all set up on our front lawn, we went and sat at St. Rose Church in Sandy Hook, and as my oldest was getting ready for bed she voices what we all are feeling throughout this horrific event “I feel so helpless. I want to DO something more.” Sometimes, and I guess this is one of them, the best thing you can do is to just be there, hold close your nearest and dearest and let everything else take a back seat.
