Out of Sight Kitchen Counter Compost System

October 17, 2012 by

No need to sacrifice style for sustainability. Before transferring scraps to an outdoor composter, you can conveniently and beautifully collect organic waste out of sight beneath the counter with the Blanco sleek Solon odor-eliminating compost system.

With its discreet removable basket, Solon lets you go directly from kitchen to garden collecting everything from fruit and vegetable peels to egg shells and coffee grounds–all hidden from view.

Winner of the prestigious international iF award for product design, the Interior Design Best of Year, and the Bloom awards, the Solon coordinates with all Blanco’s Silgranit II stainless steel sinks, integrating seamlessly into the kitchen counter.

Urban Gardens would like to thank Blanco for its generous sponsorship of the Modenus London BlogTour which made possible my participation in this special design event and visit to the London Design Festival.

fantastic device; I’d been struggling with how to devise such a thing. Of course, you have to plan ahead and make sure you’ve got a short drawer or a cupboard below the location where you want to put this.

I wonder how much this compost system would cost? I hope it’s not that costly. I’ve been wanting to have this. I have a compost pit in my backyard but I find it so messy so might as well I would settle for this one.
