I sowed some rainbow chard several weeks ago and it's still bizarrely tiny and NOT doing well. Might seek out some plug plants. Meanwhile, I started kale seedlings (Red Russian and Cavolo Nero) indoors, and they're looking *very* spindly and leggy - not quite sure why. I am considering putting these out this week, planting them deeply to prop up their spindly stems - but would I be better off seeking plug plants? Not sure these seedlings are going to perform well, even assuming they don't get munched by the Slug Apocalpyse straight away...

Instead of a lot of cozy teasers... how about some real -how & why it was done a certain way- technical details, a few particulars? Aye? This is about technology, so a modicum of technical depth is appropriate. I for one don't appreciate the empty poetic gushing. If these ideas are simple then any quasi-competent writer should be able to clarify them. I'm not even talking about math -- just some basic explanations please. Or is this techno-magic of bottle position & solid geometry by a 12 year old just too mysterious for us common folk to understand?
