Been looking for something like this to start growing my own herbs during the Summer months (Live in Ontario, Canada) Something like this would work well in my window since we currently have 3 cats and looking for something to grow in high enough the cats cannot get into. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Don't most windows have sills? Certainly I wouldn't keep herbs in any room other than the kitchen, where there is most likely to be such surface. This seems like a case of over-designing, giving an answer to a question that doesn't exist. Nice thinking but it was probably time that could have been spent making something worthwhile.

James, aren't there suction cups that are strong enough to hold heavy picture frames? I would think one could engineer this to work, no?

Super nice design and concept. The holders look very sleek and the labels look very stylish. But from my experience, those suction cups will never hold for the long haul. Especially with the change in temps on that glass, and the xtra weight from the watering.
Mel, you can hang your own window planters on your window by using those 3M Command strips that you can use for sticking on drywall without tearing it up. Depending on your planter size, you may have to get a heavy duty version (but they list weight limits). And it pulls right off as easily. If you wanted, could put a planter on both sides of window to hide each others sticky strip.
