Urban Gardens Launches New Column at VENÜ Magazine
June 10, 2011 by Robin Plaskoff Horton

Urban Gardens (yup, that’s me, Robin Plaskoff Horton) is excited to be the creator of Exterior Motives, a new bi-monthly column for VENÜ Magazine, a vibrant and colorful print publication in Connecticut and New York. VENÜ offers an editorial mix spanning a broad range of topics, including art, architecture, design, fashion, music, film, photography, food and wine. Exterior Motives will cover the same innovative and eco-friendly range of designs, trends, and ideas that we showcase here on Urban Gardens–in sync with what VENÜ is all about: giving you insight that’s original and inspirational.

Published six times a year, VENÜ aims to venture beyond the average magazine, delivering an illuminating glimpse into popular culture and bearing witness to the exceptional talent that surrounds us.
When VENÜ Magazine launched in 2010, the publication’s goal was, according to the founder, Tracey Thomas, “to publish a fresh, original and enduring magazine that believes in the intelligence of its readers, and rises to the challenges of surprising them visually and editorially. Foremost, it is designed to appeal to a certain mindset rather than a specific demographic.”

VENÜ anticipates becoming the “must have” arts, culture, and style magazine in Connecticut, New York, and beyond, with outstanding contributions from leading figures associated with art, music, theater, fashion and design. With its bold emphasis on consuming, collecting, and connoisseurship, VENÜ is ultimately about telling its readers where to go in their quest for the best.
In addition to other blogs, Urban Gardens has contributed to publications including The South China Morning Post, Asia’s largest English language newspaper, as well as Artizen Magazine.
