Stamford, CT Creative Eco Garden Retreat Takes Flight

September 11, 2010 by

I’m down to the wire setting up Conversing With Nature: A Creative Garden Retreat, the eco-friendly design and garden show house installation I’m creating at the invitation of Victoria Lyon Interiors. We’ll be previewing it to the press on September 22, and it opens to the public on September 26.

We have given birth to our delectable moss birds, who will be flying across one wall toward a birdhouse…

My garage has become the staging ground for all the wonderful consigned, contributed, or loaned materials and products we’ll be showcasing. We’ll be hanging our upside-down terra cotta pots repurposed into pendant lamps, plugging in the live lamp by LA artist Kara Bartelt, placing the doggie topiary from Dig in Brooklyn, and hanging and planting the vertical garden system provided by Plants on Walls.

The green wall, seen above with its raw, undressed parts, will bring the outdoors inside and provide a focal point leading show house visitors to the adjoining greenhouse where they will enjoy tropical plants and a stunning metal sculpture by my friend, artist Danielle Mailer.

Stay tuned for more details, photos, and videos of this exciting event.
