NYC Pollinator Week: Hidden Hives Tour Tonight!

June 25, 2009 by

bee_ball

Three days after the sweet success of the Beekeeper’s Ball, in a continuing effort to legalize urban beekeeping in New York City, Just Food is sponsoring  a virtual Hidden Hives Tour tonight at Jimmy’s No. 43.  Explore the incredible hidden world of urban beekeeping without leaving your bar-stool. Learn about the ancient art of mead-making, while indulging in a mead tasting – you’ll find out why this ancient beverage is known as the nectar of the gods.

On this virtual tour, you’ll visit rooftop, backyard, and community garden hives and hear the tales of intrepid urban beekeepers. Come to Jimmy’s No. 43 and find out what all the buzz is about.

Suggested donation: $10.  Special thanks to Long Island Meadery, Manhattan Meadery and Eileen Coles.
